Much of the major lyrical content is heavy: con-men who promise futures to people, only to leave their lives in ruins. Relationships that grow tenuous and fall apart, followed by the realization that they never should have happened to begin with. The processing of grief that comes with emerging out the other side of an endless, seemingly dark tunnel, and the disbelief that something that was a reality for so long can finally be over. This juxtaposition is exemplified in Derrick Acosta’s (who has also worked with Mrs. Magician, Dead Heaven) lo-fi style video for “Whatever Dude”, which feels a bit like a mellow mushroom trip on a sunny day.
